What does a customs broker do?
A customs broker (customs representative) prepares and files the declaration on your behalf, calculates duties and taxes, obtains permits and deals with customs until the cargo is released. You do not need an in-house declarant.
Which documents are needed for customs clearance?
Usually the foreign trade contract, commercial invoice, packing list, transport documents (CMR, rail or air waybill) and permits for the goods. The exact list depends on the goods and the customs regime — we will check your set and tell you what is missing.
How long does clearance take?
It depends on the type of goods, how complete the documents are and the customs regime. We review documents in advance, before the cargo arrives, so the declaration is filed without delay and the cargo does not sit at the post.
